As I prepare to leave in a week for a month and a half in Europe, and start to gather what I will be bringing, besides clothes and other necessities, there are other essential things that always make my traveling a whole lot easier. From the perfect backpack to the even the perfect makeup bag, here are my travel accessory essentials:
The backpack that Fits Everything
No joke, I actually just bought this backpack two days ago. After danielle bought a similar one, I knew had to have it. Why? Simple. It really does fit everything. To top it off, the back section is TSA approved to keep your laptop in while it goes through the machine at security. This is a huge plus for me because, lets face it, you feel rushed most of the time when you are taking your laptop out of the bag, your shoes off, belt off, etc and one less thing to worry about sounds good to me.

The Perfect Makeup + Toiletry Combo Bag
I have a few of Freegrace’s products now and by far, this is my favorite. I am not the most organized person I’ll admit (unwillingly) so this bag is perfect for me. I love that this combines make up and toiletries, saving major space. You can even fit full-size products in the middle pouch if you want, but I just put some makeup there. I like how you can see everything too so you never have to go digging for that damn lipstick again.
A Pillow that Will Finally Help You Sleep on the Plane
I have gone through MANY and I repeat, MANY, travel pillows. I am the type of person who can almost never sleep on a plane unless I am at the window seat and even then I will sleep 1/10000th of the flight time. What’s different about Bcozzy’s neck pillow you ask? Well great question! The back of the pillow doesn’t force your head forward, keeping it in alignment, the front neck support is amazing, and you can unwrap it around you and fold it in half to create even more cushion as you lean to one side or the other.
Spandex For Your Clothes: Space Saver Bags
Space saver bags are literally life savers (hehe I couldn’t not). I actually don’t have the brand above, I got mine from a local store, but really they are all pretty good (just read the reviews first). I’m sure you have heard of space saver bags, and if you haven’t gotten them (especially my female nomads), go to amazon now and order immediately. Especially for when you are taking airlines that charge extra for checked luggage, these bags save space and money, allowing you to fit what you would in a larger bag into a carry on.
Side note: Look out for a video later in the week where I will be repacking all my stuff in my space saver bags just to prove how great they are!
A Case to Put All Your Wires and Plugs In
Don’t you love taking your headphones out of your bag, just to find that, even though you put them in nicely folded, they still comes out tangled? SAME. That’s why I love this thing. It is small and can easily fit in your backpack, purse, whatever. Place your headphones in there, USB cable, head to your charger, or whatever your heart desires (as long as it fits).
The Jewelry Case from the Gods
As you can see, most of these accessories follow a theme of eliminating unnecessary space. This Jewelry bag is not different. Again, what I love most is that it folds up nice and small and then when you unfold it, you can see all your things nicely organized into little compartments.
A Passport Case with many Pockets
For my last travel essential accessory, I am going to go with a classic, a passport case. Now, while I have a different one from the one above (I couldn’t find mine online), really all I suggest is to find one with a lot of pockets so you can fit not just your passport in it, but boarding passes and any other necessary travel documents you may need. It is nice to keep it all in one spot so you don’t have to awkwardly go scrambling through your bad looking for your ticket while the security officer gives you a dirty look for wasting his time.
Got any other travel accessories that you can’t live without? Let me know in the comment section below because I am always looking for things to make #TheNomadLife just a little bit easier!
